Hip Hip Hooray!!! I received the April issue of ARISE Magazine today. My review on Donnie’s “The Colored Section” is featured and there are a couple of paragraphs from j-notes featured in the cover story on Lizz Wright. I am blessed and very grateful. 🙂
Speaking of Lizz Wright, the soundclips from her debut Verve release “Salt” are now available. They are definitely an elixir for your ears.
From the SF Chronicle, “Getting funky once again Improvisational band Soulive brings jazz grooves back to the dance floor.” Soulive will be appearing at The Fillmore on Friday and Saturday. Here are a couple of soundclips for their new live release, “Soulive.”
“Alladin” and “El Ron”
Don’t forget bassist Christian McBride will be appearing at Yoshi’s from Friday to Sunday.
Singer Patti Austin will be appearing at Kimball’s East from 4/18-20.
Saxophonist Boney James with vocalist Ledisi at the Masonic Auditorium on April 18.
