Okay, I am not sure what inspired me to click on e-bay or half.com at e-bay but I did and oh, the music I found. Don't worry, I did not spend every cent to my name but I did find some gems.
I found a copy of Carmen McRae's, "Sarah - Dedicated To You", a great tribute album to Sarah Vaughan. I originally bought this album on cassette in the early 90's and had been wanting it on CD ever since. I recently heard the CD and learned that it had two extra songs that were not on the cassette. Songs included are such Sarah standards as "Poor Butterfly", "Send In The Clowns", and "I'll Be Seeing You." Carmen sounds great and puts her love for Sarah into every song. She is also backed by the Shirley Horn Trio which is truly an added bonus to this already wonderful album.
Next, I found a copy of a 1997 Roberta Flack Christmas album entitled, "The Christmas Album." I love anything she does and my favorite albums are "Roberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway", "Softly With These Songs The Best of Roberta Flack", "I'm The One" and "Roberta." I recently missed an opportunity to see her in concert in L.A. I would love to see her in concert just once. In 2002, she released "Roberta Flack in Concert" on DVD and VHS. It will definitely be on my Christmas wish list. :)
