This news just in…there will be new a Incognito album coming out on November 20. Unfortunately, it will be an import so it may be a bit pricey but worth it.
Also, pianist Bobby Lyle’s new release, “Joyful”, will be out on November 4.
Saxophonist Kirk Whalum is keeping quite busy these days with his two new releases, “Groovin’ – BWB” featuring Rick Braun, Kirk Whalum, and Norman Brown (10/22) and “The Gospel According to Jazz – Chapter II” featuring George Duke, Jonathan Butler, Paul Jackson, Jr., Kim Burrell, and Kevin Whalum (10/29). If this is anything like his first “Gospel According to Jazz” album released in 1998 then I will be running out to get it quickly. I have been enjoying Kirk’s music since the mid-80’s when he playing with Bob James.
Incognito is definitely hot! Bluey is phenomenal as well as the rest of the band. I have 100 degrees and rising(or is it lost?) I love the style. Maybe you can find old Incognito CD’s on Amazon.
