Attention Chicago!!! Anita Baker is coming to the Star Plaza!!!

Anita Baker
No, this is not a dream. It is really true. Seven-time Grammy award-winning songtress Anita Baker is making her long awaited return. She will be doing two concerts on December 27 and 28 at the Star Plaza Theater in Merrillville, Indiana (just a few miles outside of Chicago.) Tickets are available via the internet only on Friday, November 22 at 12pm from Ticketmaster and go on sale to the public on Saturday, November 23 at 12pm. The ticket prices are between $65-75. This is definitely a concert that you do not want to miss. What a great gift for Christmas!!! Also check out other upcoming Star Plaza Theatre events. Thanks shb!!
I also found a Pollstar article on “The Return of Anita Baker” which mentions she is working on a new album so hopefully there will be some music next year.

How many times have I heard about the return of Anita Baker? Child, I’m not holding my breath.

David, I totally share your sentiments but I cannot wait to hear the reviews from her upcoming concerts. We have been promised a new album forever but I will believe it when I see it.

The last time I even tried to go to Merrillville, it was to see Freddie Jackson and Loose Ends. Because of traffic, I, the person who was driving (his name escapes me right now), and Loose Ends had problems getting there. They got there so late they only performed three songs, and rather quickly.
Freddie came on and performed 5 songs. The sound quality was was so bad, we left in a very foul mood. Hopefully, Merrillville won’t have any of the issues that it had back then.

Hmmmmm…I wonder just who you went to that concert with on that rainy Friday in 1988 (smile)!! Fortunately, I have been to the Star Plaza since then and sound has gotten much better.

I heard that Anita performed 2 more shows in Houston following the New Year’s Eve show. Any word on those shows?

    “Anita, Anita, Anita”!
It really doesn’t matter which venue she’s performing, it will (as always) be an evening of sheer pleasure! She the only real songtress left and a true master at this business of music, with authentic vocals to boot! She my wife’s favorite, and I more than enjoy listening, hearing and seeing her perform as well!
