Flashback Friday – Stevie Wonder “Songs In The Key Of Life”

Songs In The Key Of Life

“Good morn or evening friends | Here’s your friendly announcer | I have serious news to pass on to ev-er-y-body | What I’m about to say | Could mean the world’s disaster | Could change your joy and laughter to tears and pain | It’s that | Love’s in need of love today | Don’t delay | Send yours in right away | Hate’s goin’ round | Breaking many hearts | Stop it please | Before it’s gone too far | The force of evil plans | To make you its possession | And it will if we let it | Destroy ev-er-y-body | We all must take | Precautionary measures | If love and please you treasure | Then you’ll hear me when I say | Oh that | Love’s in need of love today | Don’t delay | Send yours in right away | Hate’s goin’ round | Breaking many hearts | Stop it please | Before it’s gone too far| Just give the world LOVE” – Stevie Wonder

Isn’t it amazing how the lyrics of a song written almost 30 years ago can ring so true in the midst of our world’s struggles today. In 1976, I was 13 years old, my nephew was born, our country celebrated its bicentennial, and Steveland Morris changed our world forever with his prolific music.

God Bless Us All.

What a luscious choice for a Friday Flashback! I remember the first time I really heard and meditated on the words of that lyrical charge, I was driving down the Florida coast meditating on the power of Love. Thanks James for the reminder that Love can change the course of the world.

KJLH is still on the air? Wonder-ful! Having left Southern California some 16 years ago, it’s nice to know the land of Kindness Joy Love and Happiness is still around.
