Fillmore Jazz Festival

Fillmore Jazz Festival 2004

Blending art and soul in one of the country’s most unique neighborhoods, the 20th Annual Fillmore Jazz Festival will bring today’s best jazz to the streets that once welcomed icons of Jazz history like Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong and Billie Holliday.
The largest free Jazz festival on the West Coast, Fillmore draws over 100,000 visitors to the tree-lined streets of a treasured neighborhood. Complementing the musical sounds of local players, this festival also celebrates the Bay Area’s up-and-coming visual artists. From sunup to sundown, visitors can groove to the sounds of live music from multiple stages, browse the offerings of over 300 artists and enjoy gourmet food and beverages. Asian to Cajun, paintings to pottery, old favorites and new directions, the Fillmore Jazz Festival is not to be missed.
The Fillmore Jazz Festival is held on July 3 & 4 from 10am to 6pm each day and located on twelve blocks of Fillmore Street between Jackson and Eddy. This year’s festival schedule includes performances by Paula West, Lonnie Tuck w/The Dee Spencer Trio, Kim Nalley, Frank Jackson Quintet, Lavay Smith & Her Red Hot Skillet Lickers, Marcus Shelby Jazz Orchestra, and many others. See you there!
