Music to warm your heart…

Vocalist Clairdee tonight at 8:30pm and 10:30pm at Jazz at Pearl’s. On Saturday, February 12, Clairdee returns to Copia in the romantic Napa Valley for a very special Valentine’s concert, “What’s Love Got to Do With It?” Her new live CD, Music Moves, will be released on March 1.
Jazz legend Abbey Lincoln will be at Yoshi’s starting tomorrow through Monday. Tickets are already sold out for the 8pm show on Saturday. Tickets are now on sale for the 6th Annual SFJAZZ Festival Spring Season which runs from March 12 through June 26. The San Jose Jazz Society’s Sunday Jazz Series 2005 is in full swing through March. Upcoming shows include Ed Johnson and Novo Tempo, Jovino Santos Neto, and Russell Malone & Benny Green.
Vocalist Cedric Brown will be performing with Robert Moses’ Kin Dance Company. The company will be premiering a new work, The President’s Daughter, an exploration of power, love, and race, based on the relationship between Thomas Jefferson and Sally Hemmings. Performances are Thur-Sat, Feb 17-19 and Thur-Sun, Feb 24-27.     I actually get to attend a show tomorrow night. Well, I’ll be serving beer and wine but it’s still free music. It’s the sax player, Richard Elliot. I don’t know if you’re familiar with him. But I won’t throw rocks at his music.
