YOSHI’S JAZZ CLUB & JAPANESE RESTAURANT 2007 ANNIVERSARY ART CONTEST
Artwork representing 10 years at Jack London Square and 35 years of world-class Jazz in the Bay Area sought Deadline for entries is March 26th.
Oakland, Ca (March 5, 2007) – In May 2007 Yoshi’s will celebrate its 10th year at its Jack London Square location, and the 35th year of presenting great Jazz and Japanese food in the Bay Area. Throughout the month of May, Yoshi’s will celebrate its anniversary with special events and commemorative memorabilia.
Artists are invited to submit original artwork for consideration as the official anniversary logo, which will be used on the website and all promotional material for the celebration. Artwork should represent Yoshi’s history in the Bay Area (10 years at Jack London Square and 35 years in the Bay Area), the world-class Jazz it presents and its Japanese heritage & cuisine.
One Grand Prize winner will be chosen whose artwork best captures the essence of this special time for Yoshi’s Jazz Club & Restaurant. The winner of the art contest will receive 5 pieces of merchandise and/or CD featuring their artwork along with $500 Yoshi’s gift certificate.
Artwork must be submitted in a rectangular format matching the dimensions of a music CD, although the artwork size does not necessarily have to be the exact size of a CD as it may also be used on T-shirts and other merchandise. Yoshi’s will accept artwork in color, black & white, mixed media and digital. Artwork on computer disc is also eligible as long as a printout of the artwork is submitted along with the disc. Work should not be matted. All entries must have artist’s full name, address and phone number on the back.
All submissions must be received by Monday, March 26th at 6:00PM PST and should be sent to Art Contest / YOSHI’S Jazz Club 510 Embarcadero West, Oakland, CA 94607.
