Jamie Davis @ The Rrazz Room
I am sure the rest of the world knows about the music of vocalist Jamie Davis but I got to hear him for my first time at the 51st Annual Monterey Jazz Festival with a big band on the Garden Stage this year. He played on the closing night of the festival and he and his band were fantastic. I was most impressed by the way Jamie and his band took songs like “Isn’t She Lovely” and “Hello” and gave them the big band treatment. Last Sunday, Jamie and his quintet put on a swinging set at Chapel of the Chimes in Oakland.
